Line of 4 is a strategy game where two players take turns to drop counters into a vertical playing apparatus, just like "Connect 4". The apparatus consists of seven columns each containing six rows. Each time a counter is dropped into a column, it falls to the lowest available row.
The two players have different colour counters and the winner is the first to connect four of their counters in a line, vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
Various difficulty levels are supported for human v computer games. It is also possible to watch a demo (computer v computer) or for two humans to play. There are also best-of-four "challenge" matches with global high-scores. Also, there is now the ability to play online against other players around the world, with saved player stats and rankings.

- Online Ranking: The game uses an algorithm to calculate rankings which is partly based on games played, won, etc, but also on the ability of your opponent. For example, if you beat a high-ranked player you will increase your ranking more than beating a lower-ranked player.
- Opponent moves after timeout: This doesn't really happen - it is an illusion caused by the network time lag between the two phones.
- Score problems: There is a bug where the Online Stats screen sometimes does not correctly show your player data. This was fixed in version 1.26.
- Game Freezes when you select a full column: Fixed in version 1.24.
